1. Use of this website

This website is provided by Vickers Law, PLLC ("Vickers Law," "we," "us") for general information about the firm and its practice. By using the site you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

2. No legal advice; no attorney-client relationship

The content on this site — including the FAQ — is general information about North Dakota and Minnesota criminal practice. It is not legal advice, may not reflect the current law, and does not apply to your particular situation. Reading this site, sending us a message through the contact form, or texting or emailing us does not create an attorney-client relationship. We represent you only after we have agreed to do so and, where required, you have signed an engagement agreement. Until then, do not send us confidential information, and do not rely on anything here to decide whether or when to act — court deadlines are strict.

3. Text messaging (SMS) terms

Program description. Vickers Law offers text messaging to clients and prospective clients who agree to receive it. Messages relate to your matter with the firm: appointment and court-date reminders and confirmations, scheduling changes, requests for documents or information, and replies to questions you send us. We do not send marketing or promotional texts. Messages are sent through Clio, our practice-management software provider, from a toll-free number assigned to the firm.

How you opt in. You consent to receive texts by providing your mobile number and agreeing to text communication with the firm — in writing at intake, by telling us you want to be texted, or by texting our firm number first. Consent is not a condition of retaining the firm. If you give us a mobile number, you represent that you are the account holder or have the account holder's permission.

Message frequency varies with activity in your matter.

Message and data rates may apply. Standard carrier charges from your mobile provider may apply to messages sent and received.

Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to cancel. After you send STOP, we will send one message confirming you have been unsubscribed, and you will receive no further texts unless you opt in again. Opting out of texts does not end our representation; we will use other means to reach you.

Help. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at (701) 365-4884 or stormyvickers@stormyvickerslaw.com.

Privacy. Your mobile number and your consent to receive texts will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. See our Privacy Policy.

Carriers. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is subject to effective transmission from your carrier and network availability.

Confidentiality. Text messaging is convenient but is not a secure or encrypted channel. Do not text us details about a pending case that you would not want anyone else to read. Use texts for scheduling and quick logistics; call, email, or meet with us for anything substantive.

Supported carriers. Messages are supported by major U.S. carriers. Availability may vary by carrier and device.

4. Intellectual property

The text, graphics, and other content on this site belong to Vickers Law or its licensors. You may view and print pages for your personal, non-commercial use. Any other use requires our written permission.

5. Third-party links and services

This site may link to other websites, including courts and government agencies. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. The site is hosted by Wix.com and is subject to Wix's terms and privacy policy for the hosting platform itself.

6. Disclaimer of warranties; limitation of liability

The site is provided "as is." We make no warranty that it is accurate, complete, current, or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vickers Law is not liable for any loss arising from use of the site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits our professional obligations to our clients.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Dakota, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about this website will be brought in the state or federal courts sitting in Cass County, North Dakota.

8. Changes

We may revise these terms at any time by posting an updated version with a new effective date. Your continued use of the site or the text-messaging program after a change constitutes acceptance.
